Welcome to IGLU studio. We are landscape architects and urban designers who like to do things differently.

lglu started life in 2013, with a background in landscape architecture and urban design.
Our focus ranges from large scale masterplanning to detailed design and construction, always framed by landscape, nature and people.
Our practice combines research, skill, experience and innovation to create an open-minded, holistic approach to design.

Our ethos drives our practice.
We believe that landscapes and urban environments should be beautiful and functional, robust and adaptable. At the core of our work is the drive to create ecologically thriving spaces for both people and nature.
Designing strategies and structures which protect and improve habitats can contribute to the safeguarding of rural and urban spaces, along with collaborative delivery and maintenance processes including community empowerment, knowledge-sharing and stewardship.
People make our projects.
Iglu is a small design practice whose size and versatility is its strength. It means the people who run the projects, design the projects.
It means that work practices are flexible, bringing in specialists from an extensive network of collaborators, including ecologists, animators, artists, landscape architects, and other design professionals as and when required to satisfy the specific requirements of the client and project.

Listen
Before we start any project, we LISTEN. To the client, to the community, to the site

See
Once we understand the work, we SEE. We look at the site, at what makes the place and how people interact and use it, so we can learn.
Think
Then we take time to THINK. To develop, explore, examine and test.

Draw
At this time we DRAW. Whether by hand, by computer or a combination of means that can express and convey our ideas and make the proposals accessible to all.

Make
To fully understand and realise, we MAKE. We model, we build and we make happen on the ground.
