ACTIVE TRAVEL NETWORK

Iglu were required to collate comments and ideas from an initial community consultation exercise and merge with water restoration and landscape improvements to create an integrated masterplan.

The proposals included expanding and improving existing greenspaces such as woodlands and wetlands and the creation of a wide variety of greenspaces to improve water management and biodiversity in the area.

In addition to a series of lagoons, the project area also includes the Bathgate Water, or the Bog Burn as it is known locally.

The proposals include upgrading the path network around the lagoons and other water bodies to make these routes accessible for all.

VIEW ACROSS LAGOON

Iglu also produced a zoom masterplan which detailed the proposals for the northern edge of the site, including an upgraded entrance/crossing point, a wetland boardwalk, new native planting (woodland and wetland) and an expanded play area.
